Where is home?
Do you still call your parents house/town/city "home," or is "home" your new house/town/city/whatever? What about your DH/DW/SO?

Where I live now is home.
I moved out of my mother's house almost 15+ years ago and she has since moved twice so there's no connection whatsoever to where she lives now.

This question always makes me all flustered. I don't really have a "home," having never lived anywhere long enough to get attached to a place.
Where I live now is not "home," since we're here only temporarily. My parents' house is not my home, since I've never lived anywhere in their state.
DH probably just thinks of our current house as "home" -- he doesn't have as many issues with this as I do.

I grew up in Levittown and bought my house about 2 miles from my parents in Levittown. The house I bought is my home but..... My parents house will always be my home also

hard one. I consider where I live now my home but I still miss NY (where I lived for my first 28 years)
When someone asks me where I am from I say " I grew up in long island but live in Charlotte now"

I don't really have a 'home' right now.
Where I grew up was my home, but my parents moved out during grad school... and i don't consider their new house my home...
But, at the same time, I've been so transient in the last few years, that I haven't been anywhere long enough to consider it home.
So, I guess Smithtown is still home, but I don't really go there anymore.

It's where I live, in the house with Kevin. But sometimes when I'm referring to my mom's house I'll say "when I was living at home" and sometimes I'll just say "when I was living at mom's house".

same here. i refer to the house i grew up in as "my mother's house". it's very different now from when i was living there anyway.

My house is home but I've been married for almost 8 years.
In the beginning I would refer to my parent's house as home and my roomate from college as my roommate. It drove DH crazy.

DH & I still live in the same town we went to HS in so it's we don't even have to think about it. I moved here with my mom and brother the summer before 10th grade, he has lived in this house his whole life except for college and he had a co-op in Little Neck for a few years.

well, where i live now with DH does feel like " home' to me, BUT there is nothing like going back to where my parents live, and where i grew up  i spent the first 25 years of my life there, and i always get a great feeling when i go back there... so i do call both ' home".

Home is usually my house I live in now. But every now and then I call my parents house home, or when I travel back to NY I sometimes say I'm going home.

I refer to both as home. Sometimes I feel bad when I call my parent's house home around my DH, but I really think it will forever be my home as well.
ETA: I live in Albany now so whenever I go to LI, I say I am going home.
