We rented the local firehouse with DD#1. It was nice and we catered from our favorite place. We also decorated it ourselves to make it more special. This time it will be in our backyard.

we had ours at John Harvards by Smithaven Mall. Worked out well, tehy have their menus and prices on their website.

We're having ours at Trio and the Holbrook Country Club - not too expensive at all.
Sonoma Grill, Brick House, JR's Steakhouse,
Elk Street Grille in Port Jeff are all other places that come to mind.

I posted this on a bridal shower thread, but maybe it will help you. We are using the Garen Grill in Smithtown.
Places I've either had or been to for showers, rehearsal dinners, Christenings:
Long Island Grill-Ronkonoma, two private rooms, starting packages at $19, very good food and great service
Momma Lombardis-Holbrook, private room if you meet the minimum (30 people, I think). Awesome food, I can't remember the price, but I think it was $28 or $32 pp
Villa Sorrento-St. James, great food, private room, mid $20s
La Monacos-Setauket, private room, good food, low $20s
The village Way-Port Jefferson, good food, good service, small private room good for smaller crowd, less than $20 pp
Places I called around to for various occasions:
Garden Grill: Smithtown, private rooms (several so party size can vary), $26 pp to start
Bliss-Setauket, $28 to start
One more-J&R Steak House, I think they start at $14 pp
