Where is the best place fo carpet?
I live in the 3 Village area, and DH and I are in the process of closing on our house. We want to get wall to wall carpet for his drum room, the stairs, and the hallway upstairs due to his equipment, and wanted to get two large size custom made rugs for the MB and LR.
I'm not from LI, so I have no idea where to start looking, and what would be good prices.
For the custom rugs, we want to get the padding as well to place under the rug.

I would try home depot. Montauk carpet is also very popular.

Both have been having good promotions lately.
In Port Jeff Station
Home Goods has nice area rugs
Also check out
LI Carpet Connection in Port Jeff on 347 next to Cress Florists. Good selection but not sure on prices. I haven't priced them yet.

home depots carpets are more expensive than carpet stores. i am in nassau and it know that is case around me.

I used empire and they gave us the best deal and we had them installed within 3 days--you can also negotiate with them.

They have a website and a 1800 number. I see their commercials all the time.

We used Empire too for DS's room. They come right to your house and can install the next day.

We used Empire and they were great...came within 3 days and we negotiated the price down.
However, be aware if you are carpeting steps that is very pricey. I think our steps costs almost as much as it was to carpet three bedrooms.
