Where is the best place to get a mortgage?
Just wondering if it is better to go to a bank or to go to a mortgage broker?
Does it make a difference who you should go to if you are buying the house to fix it up and sell it or just to buy and own for a while ?
We are thinking about buying something fixing it up and then using the money made to actually afford a house in the area we want on LI.
Any suggestions or opinions?

I would suggested a mortgage broker. They shop around and get you the best deal. FM me if you would like the name of the broker we used. He was fabulous.

we actually had a great experience using a lender we got from lendingtree.com
we got a much lower rate than we found with other lenders
