Behind the driver seat, in the middle, or behind passenger seat. I know the manual tells you, but just curious what you ladies did...

Thank you!

In the middle... it's where our manual said to put it and we have the LATCH system.

MIDDLE

That car safety guy here agrees.. if you have LATCH its safest place.

I prefer to know there's distance between her car seat and the four 'walls' of the car.

Since I have two, there is one behind the driver and one behind the passenger. We have no other choice.

when we used the infant seat, it was the middle. Now its behind the passenger seat due to DS's size. I couldn't imagine trying to get him into the middle. Its a battle getting him into the car seat to begin with.

Our mini-van has bucket seats in the back. SO DS sits behind the passenger seat..

Behind passsenger... it won't fit behind the drivers seat and there is no way I could lift it from the middle (I have back problems)

behind the passenger seat. our cars have LATCH, but only on on the end seats. also, w/ the seat in the middle the seat can't go back far enough for DH to sit so we could only put it on the sides.

Behind the passenger seat in our car. Chat Icon We don't have LATCH in the middle seat and I didn't want to secure her with seatbelts. LATCH is much safer.

Car seat is in the middle in both cars. Mine doesn't have latch at all, DH's only has latch on the side, but has the tether in all three positions for forward facing.

LATCH is not necessarily any safer than seatbelts. It's just simpler to use, so it's more likely that people will use them correctly. When used properly, seatbelts are just as safe, if not safer, than LATCH. Keep in mind that there is a weight limit for the LATCH loop (each car is different, but it's usually around 40 lbs), and if you don't switch to the seatbelt by that point, it's very unsafe to use the LATCH system.

DD's infant seat is in the middle..It is a PIA to get it in and out of the middle in our car (a honda accord) but I feel like it's the safest so I deal.
