Where to buy good quality pearls?
Where is a "reputable" place to buy genuine pearls (earrings, etc...)?

Mikemodo (sp??) or Fortunoffs. It depends upon the size and the quality.
eta: for quality look at the luster (sheen), the shape (how perfectly round are they), are they smooth (no blemishes, no marks, what color are they, what is the undertone (cream, pink, white, yellow, grey).
Are they tahitan pearls?
Round are more than button or natural.
Size matters.

My parents got me pearls from our family jewler in Manhattan. Mom sat down and picked each pearl by color, mine are pink they cost retail about $1700 but they probably paid about $1,000 and the earing were about $150

DH got mine from our jeweler in Manhattan for our anniversary. He picked out the color, shape and length of the necklace before they were strung.
Type of pearl, color, shape and length will all help determine price.

you can get them most places
