where to get a mercury (thimerosal) free flu shot
Hello everyone. This may be my first post to this site, but I've found it invaluable while I was TTC and now that I'm almost at my due date.
Does anyone know of a place that will give me an thimerosal-free flu shot? My OBs office doesn't have them, and the pediatrician doesn't consider me as part of their patient load until after I deliver. Thanks!

Isn't it too late to get it?

Re: where to get a mercury (thimerosal) free flu shot
you can still get it...flu season lasts through march...I got mine at riteaid, but you can get it also at some cvs's that are still giving out the shots at specific locations. If you go to their website and do a search you will be able to find the ones that distribute it. Good luck!

No not at all.
I got mine from my OB. I would call your PCP and ask if they can get it for you.

Re: where to get a mercury (thimerosal) free flu shot
Thanks for all the responses. I am going to try one of the CVS clinics, although the website says they only give the preservative-free shot to children. I guess it's worth a shot. I never considered asking my PCP to order it. That can be a back-up plan.

I got mine at CVS back in November. The nurse had the thimerisol free shot.

They'll def give it to you if you're are pregnant..they reserve it for use babymakers too!

I totally forgot about CVS. I spoke with them when DH went for his back in Oct (my Ob told me I couldn't get the shot in my 1st trimester) - they said they have a limited number of them. But the nurse told me they usually run out of them by December. But I'm not sure they will even give you the regular one anyway. It certainly doesn't hurt to go and at least see if they have it - better than not getting it at all!

Re: where to get a mercury (thimerosal) free flu shot
An update for anyone else who would like to know - CVS does not have any of the completely Thimerosal-free flu shots left, though they do (at least the one in Syosset does) have the shot called Fluarix with only a trace amount that is supposedly safe in pregnancies. That obviously is a personal decision.
