Where to get food and decorations for baptism?
We are having DS's baptism party at home and are looking for a place to buy a couple of heros that doesn't cost a fortune. We're in the Massapequa area. We are going to get the cake from Costco. And are there any places other than Party City or Oriental Trading to buy baptism themed plates, napkins, etc?

Re: Where to get food and decorations for baptism?
we got our party catered from a caterer up by us in Suffolk. He was Devine Caterers. I have the number at home. They were great. We paid less than $500 for food for 50 people!! Plus, that included the heroes!
For decorations, oriental trading. They had the best prices. I did find a website with more stuff (I posted the link on shorty's post).

We have used Zorn's in Bethpage to cater numerous parties. As far as the decorations you can check some local dollar stores or check Star Tracks in Farmingdale.

Re: Where to get food and decorations for baptism?
i just did this! i didn't find much in the line of baptism themed things. i did find some at Party City and at Cedarhurst Paper. What I ended up doing was just buying the dessert plates, napkins and coffee cups in the baptism theme. the rest i just did plain white dinner plates and napkins. I have a DD, so I did some of the tables with a pink table cloth (the others were white) and wrapped the cutlery in a napkin and tied with pink ribbon. Doing everything in the "theme" was too expensive for what you got ( I did much better in Costco and higher quality and I can use leftovers for next party) and I thought it was overkill.
I got the baptism themed stuff at Party City (had a coupon, otherwise, Dedarhurst Paper was cheaper) and then the clear plastic cutlery, dinner plates and napkins and red party cups at Costco. Plastic table clothes I got at the Dollar Store. (They have all colors - light pink, light blue, white, etc.)
Balloons I got at Cedarhurst Paper and picked up the morning of. I also got a dozen pink and white balloons and put some in front of the house and the rest in the back (we had the party in the backyard).
Sorry, I have no recs. for heros. We did some basic trays from our favorite local pizza place (penne vodka, chicken francese, etc.) We also did the cake form Costco and it was great! We also got a keg of beer and bought bottles of wine (there is a great wine store next to Costco in Westbury....BIG bottles and very good prices for wine).
