Where to stay in Washington DC?

I just was there last weekend and we stayed at the Hilton Embassy Row in Dupont Circle. It was very nice and convenient to the metro.

I work in DC....If you are looking to save money, I highly recommend the two hotels in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland (Hilton and Marriot). They are about a 5 minute walk to the metro, a 15 minute metro ride into downtown.
There are tons of restaurants, bars, and shops in the area.

I agree. Stay in MD and catch the metro into DC

I stayed at the Hilton in Dupont Circle for a convention and it was terrible. Very small rooms.

the hotel monaco is really nice and has a great outdoor bar area (called poste). great hotel and in a good location.

I was in DC 2 weeks ago for work. I stayed at the Park Hyatt which was BEAUTIFUL (its near Georgetown)
What about the Willard Intercontinental- thats right near the White House, or check maybe the Sofitel and the Monaco too
