I voted to do it myself. I feel like there are so many winkflash-type websites that offer great prices that it's not worth it to dress the baby up and hope that someone's going to get a good shot. It's so much more comfortable in your own home and you can try so many different outfits/poses etc. JMO

I might end up using a photo that I took myself for the cards --- but I want a portrait looking photo for the wall. I want to do it every year.
Last year we went to target and loved what we got. But the last 2 trips to target weren't very sucessful because she was very squirmy and cranky, and they just didn't catch the awesome smiles she was craking...I think they were waiting for some kind of perfect moment and that just wasn't happening...
But I'm looking online at jcpenny, kiddie kandids, sears, target -- and to be honest I like the backgrounds that target have over some of the other ones, at least for christmas photos. I really didn't like the jc penny ones at all...

I am taking the pics for the cards myself.
For a family pic (well, just the kids), I always went to JCP and have been very happy. Never got a good pic at KK, so I won't go there.
This year I am having a professional photographer, the same one I have come take their newborn photos, come and take our family picture for Christmas.

Im doing them myself- and then my DH will design the cards for me....
Im so tired of paying for pictures and never being satisfied- I truely like my pics myself better!
If you want to make a playdate and come out by me- Id be happy to do pics for you! (however now that our children or mobile- Ill admit its alot more challenging to get good pics!)

I am doing it myself and then making carda on Kodak Gallery. Sara will be one in February so I will go then for studio shots with the family
