maybe make a list on craigslist of all the books and prices and post it here. I know I would look.
I am a huge book lover/collector and hit up garage sales a lot for books.

I know there used to be a place in RVC my mom bought used books at, so I would imagine that you could sell them there too. Have no idea exactly where or what the name of the place was, or if it's still there (as I don't live around there anymore).
Wish I could help more! Good luck!

When I lived in Long Beach, I was looking for the same. It was summer so I put a table out and made a couple of bucks. I actually went to Huntington Book Revue with the good quality books, and I think it was like 50 cents for a hardcover.
You really won't make much, sadly. Whatever I couldn't sell, I donated to the Smithtown library.
I had hundreds of books. I learned my lesson and now avoid buying books. I borrow them from the library. If I do buy them because they're not available, I donate it to my library when I'm done or lend them to people.
