Which area would you say is more desirable?
South Bellmore or Massapequa Shores..........I like both houses can't decide which one to make the offer on.

Re: Which area would you say is more desirable?
I think both are great areas..Im more familar with Massapequa, their SD is good, very good.
I have a friend in S. bellmore and loves it there too.
Since you are looking on the south shore, I would see if the house can be written in the normal market. Just a heads up. Anything near water is uneligible or very costly.... Something to consider for each area.

Re: Which area would you say is more desirable?
I prefer The Shores in Massapequa over S. Bellmore. My bil & sil live in S. Bellmore for over 3 years now & have recently started to look into moving out. They feel that the neighborhood is not really what they anticipated. They have a young son & there are barely any kids in their neighborhood.

Without a doubt Massapequa. Not even a close comparison.

Agreed....but then again I am biased. It is where I grew up!

I agree. A friend just bought over there and it is a beautiful area. She did a lot of research and knew she wanted that area.

Re: Which area would you say is more desirable?
I live in S.Bellmore but I love S.Mass/Shores as well - just a little too far from the city for me. I think S.Bellmore has a slightly more desirable reputation for schools (or at least did when I was looking) but not much difference - both are great areas. We like S.Bellmore but wonder if S.Mass would have been a better fit for us sometimes - we just know it was further than we would go since we both work/worked in the city and Bellmroe is far enough for us.
Where in S.Bellmore are you looking? Maybe you can be my neighbor...there are sooo many great houses for sale nearby!
