Mine is by Hunter with the permawick filter.... it has a fan behind it - so that acts as a white noise.... i love it - i keep the thing running 23 hours, 58 minutes per day... The other 2 minutes I use to fill the tank!

vicks here too....mine doesn't make a white noise. It makes sort of a low drone noise when it's one.
