Which brand/type of thermometer?

Could you please recommend a thermometer brand/type to me? I began registering today, but I am not sure as to which one to get. Thank you!

I registered for a rectal therm by Vicks Baby.

I have three

First is the Braun Ear Thermometer...I find it totally unreliable in my 11 month old...But I do like it as a gut check as its quick and I can tell whether its worth taking a rectal temp.

I also have the one they used at the hospital. The nurse told me to take it b/c they would throw it out otherwise...Works great for a rectal temp (which by the way is what your ped will say to do for the first year)

I also have another that came with a first years set...haven't used it though.

Vicks Pro Style...you can use in the rectum, under the tongue or in the ear. Also glows in the dark...

I hated the ear themometer and the pacifier when the boys were babies - they never seemed accurate. I used the rectal. Now that they are older, they have an oral thermometer but I actually use the forehead scan to get arterial temp more than anything. The boys tend to flip their tongues and try to talk sometimes - the arterial scan is just quick, easy and doesn't rely on the cooperation of littles.
