Which districts pay the highest for Substitutes?
I'm thinking of going back per-diem subbing for some extra money. TIA!

it really varies. i have never subbed, but i have heard anything from $85 - $145 per day.

i think nyc pays $145 or $150 per day. i can't remember though - my friend looked into it two years ago. i know they were fairly high in comparison to some li schools though.

My district pays $100, and it's in western suffolk. Every district is different though.

I used to sub-Manhasset paid $90 (that was like 4-5years ago though)
Wantagh was very low-I think it was like 75-80
Plainedge was also low
NYC is by far the highest though-Maybe you can go to a school on the Nassau/Queens border like Douglaston or Little Neck

i used to sub in manhasset too! i was surprised that most of the "top" districts pay some of worst.

yes. I work in what is considered a "top district" and our permanent sub said that the pay is not that great when compared to other districts. She takes it though because she is guaranteed work every day with us. i was surprised how low it was because I feel that they pay their teachers a great salary.

A few years ago I subbed in Levittown and I believe it was $95 a day if you had or were going for your Masters. East Meadow paid like $65. I am sure by now both have gone up. I think Plainview Old Bethpage was well into the low 100s.
