Which infant carrier do you have? Do you use an infant carrier around the house?
DS wants to be held constantly and he's getting heavier and heavier. I need some support!
I have heard great things about the Ergo. I'm thinking of picking that up or maybe the Moby wrap.
Which infant carrier do you have? Do you wear it around the house or just when you go out?

Anyone I know who used the carrier a lot switched to the Ergo even if they already had a different one. I had a Baby Bjorn. We did not use it in the house and it would not have been worth it for me to make the switch. I mostly used it at social gatherings. It was better than passing my baby around. My baby didn't really need to be held a lot and I could put him down for naps.

I have the Moby and the Baby bjorn. He really doesn't like the Moby all that much but I like it better for my back. Its much more comfortable. He loves the Bjorn since his legs swing freely but it kills my back. We couldn't get through a day without it though.

I have the Lascal carrier, it's like the Bjorn but better.
For around the house I thought about getting a mei tai, a carrier that you can use to wear the baby on your back, front or on the hip.
Here are some Ellaroo carriers (you can wear some of them on the hip too):
I like them more than the popular Babyhawk mei tai carriers. If you're unsure what to use I would suggest going to a store and testing our the products with your DC. There's one in the city that has tons of samples to try.
FM me if you need more. I did a ton of research b4 narrowing it down to the Lascal.

Ring Sling was great from Birth on but LOVE the Mei Tei even more!

i have a pouch sling, the moby, and the lillebaby. the pouch is great for a quick carrier and to throw in your diaper bag. i haven't opened the lillebaby yet, but have heard good things and it looks good for dh. i'm in LOVE with the moby! it's so versitle - you can wear them facing you, away, on your hip, on your back, cradle, etc, etc... it's great and dd loves it too. i'd highly recommend it - i wear dd in it for a few hours a day!

Does the moby get really hot?
It looked so comfy when I saw another mommy wearing it.
I get hot holding DS when he is just in a onesie and I'm wearing a tank top and shorts.

I hear great things about the Ergo, but you can't have the baby facing out in front of you, which I prefer.
I have a sling and a Baby Bjorn. I use both all the time around the house.

You can probably carry it from rear but it's not made for that.

and here's a link to tons of reviews about the many type sof carriers out there, it's abit overwhelming but helpful at the same time.
baby wearer
If you like hip carriers, the scootababy is supposed to be one of the best structured hip carriers, some say even better than the ellaroo hip carriers, and it looks awesome. :D

I went to Metro Minis to get something-- Sasha is very high maintenance and I can never put her down. They have a lot of stuff-- but be prepared to wait since everyone there needs assistance.
I have an Ergo, but she is still too little to really use it without the infant insert-- which is a PITA.
I got the Kanagaroo Korner sling and it's AWESOME. Sasha loves it.
I tried on that ScootaBaby carrier and it's incredible. I really want it-- so comfortable. But, it's another $120 to spend. I wanted to use the sling first to determine if I needed yet another carrier.

I have an Ergo baby but the space between the legs for a real little one is too wide and can present with issues with hips and trunk development. I got a Baby Bjorn Active for now. When baby number 2 comes (not PG now), I'll put Abby in the Ergo and the younger baby in the Bjorn which is a bit narrower. I also felt that I wanted Abby to face outward and see the world from a higher perspective rather than facing inward.

it depends on how you wrap it - if you spread it out around you it'll keep you warm but if i bunch it up i'm fine. i find it very comfortable. i also have a bad back, so for me to say that (i can't even wear backpacks) it means something!
also, as a side note, the lillebaby is a good structured carrier because it has all the good points of the ergo (carries the weight on your hips, padded shoulder straps, etc.) but you can carry dc facing inwards and out.

Honestly, I have four. The Bjorn (for DH, he wanted that) and I have 3 slings, a Baby K'Tan I got from my sister and a Hotsling and a Jelly Bean.

I had the Bjorn and that thing saved my life. I definitely used it in the house. And for walks. And at the beach. And for shopping. And on vacation. Etc...
