I've heard great things about both. I've been to the Bahamas only, tho and LOVED it!!! It may just be a preference of how long you want to be in a plane for.

DH and I liked the Bahamas but Loved Aruba. We are actually looking into going back to Aruba this summer.

Both are great.
I think it depends on when you are going. Aruba is more south, out of the hurricane belt, and a desert, so the weather there is pretty similar all year (except this year they had a bit of a rainy season in October/November).
The Bahamas is in the hurricane belt and gets cooler over the winter months.

I loved both!!!
Um I really dont think u can go wrong with either..
IMO the only place I would stay at in Bahamas is Sandals or the Atlantis.. Other hotels imo are not "spectacular".. The flight is short which is a plus but I didnt think the town was as safe as Aruba, not horrbile but not wonderful..
Aruba, gorgeous beaches, awesome restaurants, safe in town imo but the flight is longer..I also feel that if you want to do more then just lay on the beach you need to book excursions or you will be bored..
I have been to both in the last 2 yrs, any qs just let me know :)

I've only been to Aruba and LOVED it. Safe area and lots to do. Plus, the weather is always perfect and the beaches are beautiful. Great restaurants and shopping... tax free!  There's lots to do also. We're actually leaving for Aruba this Sat and staying the week. WE have a timeshare and I can't wait to be in 80 degree weather.

Aruba hands down!
You have many,many restaurant choices. You can go ultra $$ or economy. I say a decent,middle of the road dinner w/ dessert & a bottle of wine will run @ $150 for 2.
Gratuity is already included on the bill.

Depends on where you go. Sooo many great restaurants and NYC quality. Some nights you'll pay more than others. We love El Gaucho, Sunset Grille and Flying Fishbone. Those are on the pricier side, but you can do one nice night and there's lots of cute pizza places too and Champs Bar and Grille is at the Marriot if you want some different things.

DH and I both found we loved the food more at smaller, less fancy places when we planned a budgeted trip for 2 weeks in Jul. 07
BUT the best food we have EVER eaten PERIOD is Madame Janette's- it was worth the splurge for the food and ambiance!
Our faves:
Iguana Joe's ( in town)
Salt n' pepper
The Buccaneer
Dutch Pancake House ( breakfast and lunch)
Aruba Restaurants - great resource!

I have been to the Bahamas twice, and Aruba only for a day on a cruise and I would go with Aruba.

I've been to both and that's a hard decision. Both have great food. Atlantis in the Bahamas has a great water park to break up the day. Aruba has a lot more night life than Atlantis.
