I think it depends on which store.
I've had a lot of luck at Kiddie Kandids in Commack. My girlfriend gets terrific pictures at the Hicksville Sears.
I was not a big fan of Picture People & the portrait stuido in Kmart.

I like KK also. I have only been to them and JCP, and I always get nice pictrues at KK.

I chose other - I swear by JC Penny. I have taken DD there 3 times already (she is 11 mths old) I have gotten terrific pictures for a great price everytime. I always wind up buying numerous poses because they are all too cute to choose. They alway shave deals going like $3.99 or 4.99 per sheet which is great.
KK also takes great pics but I find them to be very pricey.

I went to KK once but was not happy with the price or the fact that they don't take appts.
I had a great experience at Sears. And I will be going to them again Friday 
I hated JcPenny (they are not on your list)

My house... We went to a "professional" studio once, and those were the worst photos I have of DS. All our other photos are at home, posed in front of something significant. Sometimes it's a wall of the house that I painted, a favorite blanket, parts of the house, etc. This way, they have a nice photo, and also a reference point of the house they grew up in. Plus, we have all day to take the photos, so if DC is cranky, we just wait an hour and try again.

So far I have been to KK and Portrait People- I liked the photos at portrait people the best b/c I like the stark backgrounds better than KK's backgrounds.

I chose other. I use Hocus Focus in Smithtown and will not go anywhere else.
I recently tried Clix in Huntington, and while the experience was the best I've had with a chain, it didn't come close to Hocus Focus.

I agree. I am not a fan of KK at all, we won't go there anymore. I go to JCP or Sears.
But actually, the best pics I've had are from a professional photographer who came to my house.

I agree- we never took pro pics and now with the digital SLR's getting cheaper I don't see why anyone else has to anymore.

I have used both Target and KK. An advantage to KK is that you get the pics right away. But IMO, there is a difference in the quality of the pics. In the ones from Target, the colors look truer.

I loved the way the pics came out and they were really reasonable - i found them more reasonable than kiddie kandids.
