Which night do you make a bigger dinner for?

Christmas Eve or Christmas..
Or do you make nice dinners for both?

Christmas Day- Eve is more casual, people make baked ziti and stuff like that, a buffet dinner.

Re: Which night do you make a bigger dinner for?

They are both big in our families because we celebrate each day with different families:

Christmas Eve
@ my Dad's with his side of the family
@ my husband's aunt's with his dad's side of the family

Christmas Day
@ our house with my mom's side of the family and my in-laws

My DH's uncle (on his mom's side) also has Christmas Day, but this is the first time we aren't going (nor are my in-laws) because we are hosting it.

Im Jewish and my DH is catholic and we always celebrate both, and I always make dinners both nights but its so tough to make 2 nights of BIG dinners so I wanted to go maybe a little more casual on one night.. but wasnt sure what night I should do that..
DH says he doesnt care which one I go more casual on

I'm Jewish and DH is Catholic. I always wind up making a big dinner on Xmas day, but this year I am going to do Xmas Eve. We always wind up eating so much junk on Xmas day that we're not that hungry!

Growing up Christmas Eve was big but not as big as Christmas Day. DH's family is the opposite and now it seems the Christmas Eve is the big one.

Re: Which night do you make a bigger dinner for?

Christmas Eve is all about my big Italian family Chat Icon DH's family (Greek) do not celebrate on the Eve

Christmas Day , well my family ALSO celebrates in a smaller capacity, but WE go to my inlaws and celebrate Christmas day with another BIG HUGE feast of Greek food , along with a lot of other stuff thrown in

OH and that's not all .. the Greek Orthodox actually celebrate from Christmas Eve up until January 6th (the Epihpany) SOO its like a long drawn out food fest ... its no wonder that I'm dieting NOW to allow for all the food I'll be eating in the coming weeks Chat Icon
