There's always great lights on the backroads to the Smithaven Mall - off Edgewood and whatever that other road is called...the one that goes through St James--- the new houses over there ALWAYS decorate OVER THE TOP!

They usually post them in Newsday over the weekend. I'm hoping they do because I heard of a house in N. Babylon that has a MILLION lights on it. I want to go see that one!

Re: WHICH TOWNS HAVE THE BEST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN SUFFOLK?
There was this one house in Southampton that was out of control. The guy is an electician and basically put in his electrical system to accomdate all the lights. I think EVERY inch of the house was covered. And the lawn had all these musical and animated things. It was sort of a bit much but actualy looked kind of cool. I wish I had the pic here to show you. I say HAD only b/c I haven't gone by it in a couple of years so I'm not sure he still does it. But he also would have carafs of hot cider there for the people who came to look and collected money for St. Judes. It was pretty cool!

It is right off of Deer Park Ave.
There is also a row of houses in Babylon Village near the water (Peninsula Drive I believe)

Yes, you can see it from down the street. It's crazy! There's always a crowd of people around it.

It is such a great display - but let me tell you - it is a pain in the rear end to get there! I mean it is easy of it location, but there is always sooooo much traffic of people trying to get there.

Do you know the street name and what it is closest to so we would be able to find it in the dark? Thanks!

I can't remember the street name, but it is one block north of southern state parkway (exit 39 off of southern state). If going north you make a right onto the block and it is the 3rd house on the right - I think. You won't miss it - you can actually see if from Deer Park Avenue
