Which vacation would you rather go on?

I am trying to plan a big vacation for 2006.. since we might TTC in 2007
So, the three places I have always wanted to go to are: Italy, African Safari, and the Galapagos Islands. Ray wants to go to Australia.
I am having a hard time choosing so I thought I would try a poll to see what other people like.
MOney is not an issue... the prices I have seen for the poll choices are not very far from eachother.
If you have been to any of these places want to tell me what you liked and didn't like that would be great!

I have been to Italy/Spain/France on a med cruise and that was awesome. I have a patient who frequents the Galapogos Islands and he told me not to go there there is nothing to see, I had asked him when I was deciding where to go for our HM. another patient went to Australia and OMG- Gorgeous and she had soooo much fun.
Africa sounds really great too, Janwinter bride and I think andreamlt did that for their HM they could prob tell you a lot about it. GL!

oh edited to say my vote for australia and new zealand, I was told by that patient its the absolute best and like fantasy over there, you are lucky my DH would never fly that long.

I was harassed into going to Australia for 3 weeks in Nov. 2004 for our honeymoon by my husband but he was right, I did end up loving it. I see that its last on your list but if your husband does try to convince you on it, feel free to ask away.
The only negative about Australia was the long flight from LAX.
We stayed in Sydney, Melbourne, Port Douglas (Great Barrier Reef), the Gold Coast, Uluru (Ayers Rock the Outback) and then did excursions from the hotels.
It truly was an amazing trip with unbelievable sights.

Galapagos islands I heard is awesome from one of my customers. She asked me one time if I had ever been there. Ever been there I couldnt even spell it But I did hear it's fabulous. She really enjoyed it. She said something about turles there was really interesting.

I have always wanted to go to Australia. I have brochures all over the place. I was thinking of doing a familiarization trip through my company because of how amazing Australia looks and my desire to go. A friend of mine's brother actually lived in Australia for 6 months for his job and loved being there.

if you can catch an episode of Samantha Brown - my first cruise (or something similar) on Travel Channel, she went on Mediterranean cruise and it looked fantastic... we saw it and we want to go this year if we are able to afford it....

Our biggie before we TTC is New Zealand. Leo really wants to go and I am game. We are trying to plan an adventure package with off roading, hang gliding and zorbing. Money is definitely a factor for me but not for him. The price of airfare is killing me, but I hope it comes true.

I can't vote bc I don't think you can go wrong. They are all so special in their own unique ways. The only thing I can think of is that you may want to do Africa or Australia now before you have kids bc they're both long flights you probably wouldn't want to do with a child. Bringing a child to Europe is not as difficult. The things you would do in Europe are probably ok for kids to do too, moreso than Africa. I personally have always wanted to do a safari and see Africa and I haven't, so I guess I vote for that. I've been to Italy and it's amazing. I voted the Med. cruise...I think 2 weeks in Australia would not be enough due to long travel time.

LOL the one with the least votes is the one I want to do the most I knew this would happen!
It goes to a few place in Italy, the greek islands, and we even got to see the pyramids in Egypt!
I am really not into Australia at all, that was Rays idea.
We will see..... still undecided!

Just be careful if you go to Egypt. My mom's friend went last year, and the group had to be escorted by armed guards everywhere they went. People were screaming at them F U Americans and all sorts of stuff like that. She said it was really cool seeing the pyramids, but a little scary being there. I always thought it would be amazing to go to Egypt, so I was a little disappointed hearing this.

I don't think that you could go wrong with any of them. My parents went to the Galapagas last year and I am sooooo jealous. They had an unbeilvable experience. The pictures they brought home of all the animals they saw was just unreal!!! My mom walking down a beach with seal lion after sea lion, amazing!!!

I would definitely say the 14 Day Meditteranean cruise. But I'm being biased I just did that cruise for my HM 2 months ago and had the most fabulous time!

I have to say Greece is the most beautiful and wonderful place I have ever been! I've been twice now. You must go to Santorini -there are no words to describe how beautiful and romantic it is.

Other than that, the only other place I've been on your list is Italy - we went to the Amalfi Coast - stayed in Ravello but visited Amalfi, Positano and Capri as well. I'm actually Italian but, I still like Greece better

I am all about going on an African Safari! It may take a little while to actually do it, but that would be my vote!

10/14 days in Italy, Greece and Eygpt etc is not enough time...I would never want to rush seeing these fabulous places

And since i have been to italy...
I would pick African Safari

OK we decided!
We are going to do a 12 day Mediteranean cruise and stay a few extra days in Italy.

personally Rich and I would love to either see several countries in Europe or go to Australia. Rich might say Galapagos since he LOVES turtles.
