While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
did that continue once they were born? Could it be an indicator that the baby will have their days/nights confused (I hope you all say no )

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
I felt the baby before bed and in the morning but I dont think the movement kept me awake so I don't think I would have felt it had he been up. It really doesn't matter b/c they're up every 2-3hrs in the beginning anyway!!!!

You are rocking them in utero with your movement all day so most babies are up all night I know for both of my pregnancies they were up all night. My DD slept through the night at 6 weeks so one has proven to be wrong. I hope the other one does too

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
Thanks ladies...when I was pregnant with my son, I was never woken up at night to him moving around...and then he was a fabulous sleeper. This one moves around all night (usually after I get up to go to the bathroom) so I am just trying to prepare myself if this one is not going to be a great sleeper!

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
I didn't noticed it much at night.
But what I did notice that when I was preggo - my baby was sooooooooooo active from 8:30-10:00 pm.
And when she was born - she was still like that

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
When DD was in my belly, she was a night owl...playing around in there, kicking, hiccupping, punching, moving etc... She started sleeping thru the night fully at 7wks. Most babies are up from birth to feed every 2-3 hrs or so. It varies from baby to baby.

There really is no such thing as day/night to a newborn. They will need to eat every 2-4 hours so mostly likely your days and nights will be confused

My DS rarely moved during the day - but in the middle of the night DH would tell me that my belly would move around likke CRAZY. And, lets just say that until DS was about 5 mos old his favorite time of the day was midnight.

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
My dd was a bit confused for a couple of days but she adjusted pretty quickly.
eta: i think the reason my dd was up at night b/c the job i have im on my feet constantly running around and the constant rocking would put her to sleep during the day.

My baby figured out day and night very quickly after he was born. When I was pregnant, he was usually quite active until 2am.

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
DD never kept me up at night while pregnant (thank goodness ) and she was a terrible sleeper while she was a newborn/infant. She did have her days/nights confused, but that's very common for newborns...with some coaching she did get in a better rhythm, but her overall sleeping habits were still poor.

Re: While pregnant, if your baby was up at night...
I used to notice between 10:30Am and 1pm DS would be kicking like crazy when I was pregnant. It used to be so distracting at work. But at night I NEVER felt him.
After he was born, from the first night DS was sleeping 5-6 hours, sleeping about 10 hours by 8 or 10 weeks. DH and I say we can count on one hand the number ot times he woke more than 1x in a night.
ETA: I always say that I think that my pregnancy experience was an indicator of the baby he was already becoming in the womb.
I really dont think EVERY baby has days/night confusion. DS used to be up alot during the day beginning around 2 weeks, but always slept at night. Before that he would sleep all day and still sleep 5-6 hours straight at night.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to joke about this while pregnant. My little guy is a terrible sleeper. Only 2 hrs a night (IF we are lucky) But he sleeps for 4 - 5 hours during the day. He can't even be tempted awake with food.
I hope he figures out days and nights soon - Its killing me!
