while shes still napping, my AMAZINGLY incredible birth story ;)

I cant believe shes here..as many of you know my children are ten years apart...i got remarried and we started TTC and i was diagnosed with cancer and was told id have to have a full hystorectomy..
ha..i showed them!

my lil girl has been a miracle from the start...from the second they told us shed never be here, to the car accident i was in with my son..to the 3 different hospital admissions..shes a tough cookie, and we've been waiting to meet this strong beautiful lil girl for what feels like was forever..

i had been back and forth to labor and delivery with low amnio fluid, so finally on jan 2nd they decided to induce me while i went to be checked again at Winthrop..they started my induction at 8:46am..i was set on trying NOT to have an epi, because of blood pressure issues (low) and just the pain of administering it which i was afraid of cause i had a bad experience with my ds..but that being said,.my ds weighed 10.1 and i had him vaginally after a very long excrutiating labor, so i figured i could handle anythng compared to that lol..
till about 10:45 i still felt no real big contractions that were painful enough to even talk about..everyone in the labor suite was in great spirits, and talking and having fun making jokes etc..
they amped up my pitocin, anf the pain started getting bad at around 12..i stayed like this figuring i could handle it only for an hour..the contractions were coming about every 2 minutes apart, and were VERY strong..i also was discouraged and saddened to know that upon arrival to the hospital i was at 3cm, and after these 4 hours, i was only at 4cm...at first things were looking like a long repeat of my first labor with my ds..i was very upset, and decided i needed meds..at 1, they gave me IV medication (Stadol) and i passed out..i was so relieved until i woke up in more pain then i ever thought i could be in lol...i think because i went to sleep and by the time i woke up they were about three times worse and harder then before..
i BEGGED for an epidural..they almost didnt give me one cause they thought i was so set against it, that i was only asking cause i was drugged up lol
i finally convinced my dh to make them give me it..
this was the WORST part of my labor if you ask me..it took them 35 minutes to put it in..they couldnt find the right spot (uh, great) so they jabbed my spine while i was having contractions, and i wasnt very nice to the lady that was giving it to me lol...she actually had to ask someone for help (that made me feel great lol) when they got it in i went from 4-8.5 cm in about an hour!!!!
the dr couldnt believe it!! he thought for sure it was gonna be a long drawn out process!!
the epidural was great, i felt every contraction, but altho i was uncomfortable it was very tolerable..and i knew id be able to "feel" when it was time to push...
by about 4:15 they did another exam, and the dr said i was about 9cm dialted, and that id be able to push in no time..he said about an hour to my dh..(who by the way was INCREDIBLE throughout thid entire day) as soon as he left the room i had some contractions that felt like ummmm somethings gonna come out of me lol
at 4:20, after 2 of them i told my dh, "go get the dr, im pushing her out" and he laughed at me and said, "uh jaime, he just checked you, he said youre not ready yet"...to which i replied.."GO GET THE DR OR IM DOING THIS BY MYSELF!!!"...lol sensing some urgency to my plea, he goes and tells the nurse.."my wife, shes alil crazy right now, i know you all just said she wasnt ready, can you just go in there and tell her that again??..please??"...the nurse comes in, looks under the sheet, runs out of the room...my dr runs back in..and says "OKKKK EVERYONE, TIME TO HAVE A BABY!!!"

I had my first push at 4:26pm...i thought for sure a big glob of blood and just grossology just ccame out of me, cause i definately felt something!
then my dh says, "omg, its her head!!! shes almost out already!!"
i couldnt believe it, i felt so much more scared cause i knew the shoulders were bigger and theyd hurt me more lol...
i pushed one more time..(yes just 2 lil pushes!! hahahaaha) out came her shoulders!!!!

i cant even describe to you how i felt at that moment..im sure youll alll feel it ;)
I did tear alil, and he had to put a stitch in, so im very sore from that, and my back hurts terribly from the epidural episode..but i fell INCREDIBLE other then that,,,

i delivered at Winthrop and while the delivery nurses were BEYOND incredible..i was really dissapointed in the maternity nurses..except for 1 or 2 of them...(one being a woman named sandra who was sooo helpful) i really felt they neglicted alot of my needs when i was having trouble BFing..which i was very surprised at..i asked 4 times for a lactation consultant to come speak to me, no one ever did..i asked for help to feed my dd who was having a hard time latching on at least 4 seperate times, and not only did they not come in when i rang the bell, they didnt even acknowledge it..
i was ******..and hurt...and frustrated..
so all of you girls who are planning to BF..stay strong...its definately hard if your baby doesnt feel natural with it, or youre not getting enough milk..but im not gonna stop trying..im hoping by the end of the week we'll have gotten this routine down pat!!

anyway, im sure theres more that ill remember after but Melania will be waking up any minute!!

Great job mommy!!! My DC are 14 years apart...and the doctors told me I could never have kids after my first...I showed them too..
