White Cribs
We are planning to get the crib that will eventually be used as a full size bed. I always imagined having a white crib, but people keep telling me that if I have a boy, it will be to feminine when he is ready for a full size bed. Do you think? Would that stop you?

Re: White Cribs
Unless you're planning on giving a boy pink bedding, I don't think it would be too feminine at all. In fact BRU had a cute boy set-up using a white crib and it looked great!

Re: White Cribs
I was thinking of getting a white crib, even if we have a boy. I think it would look so nice, but you really always have to do the room in blue/red colors.

Re: White Cribs
I think people meant that white was OK for a baby, but when they got to the age that you would turn the crib into a full size bed, then it would be too feminine. I just figured we used the bed in a guest rooms then.

Re: White Cribs
I don't think it would look bad as a crib at all, and for a boy bed, my opinion is that you can do so much in a room with blue and other boy colors - would you do white dresser too?

I would do the dresser too, but I could always use it in another room later.

Re: White Cribs
I think it will look fine even as the baby gets older and you change from a baby room to a "big boy" room as long as you keep some blues and other boy-associated colors in the room, like the bedding and stuff like that. I don't think it would look feminine at all. Besides, you caould always change the knobs on the dresser to boyish things, to make it a little more masculine.

We were going to buy a white crib (we are having our 1st boy) but DH pointed out the same thing. We bought a natural colored one, and I am happy we did. It has a beautiful finish, and I personally think it looks more neutral. I think a white bed looks feminine for a boy, especially in a full sized bed.
