White Noise machines
Did anyone use them with your DC and if so how did they work? Most importantly where did you get them from?

Re: White Noise machines
Sharper Image has one, but we just tune her radio to static. Or you can buy the cds if you have a cd player in the room.

I got mine from Walmart.com...it's by Homedics and plays 5 different sounds and has 15 30, or 60 min interval or nonstop. It was only $20

I got mine from Bed Bath & Beyond. It was $20.00. I use it for every nap and at night. DD's room is so centrally located in my house and the white noise helps me get stuff done without her hearing me.

Re: White Noise machines
We have a Homedics one too. DS falls asleep to the waterfall sound. Ours is the model with the alarm clock and we got it at Kohl's. It was actually DH's alarm clock, but I stole it from him to use in DS's room. It works great for him!!

Re: White Noise machines
I have one from Bloomingdales, it was 100 bucks. It's really good though. You can choose two of the noises and combine them together...like thunder and rain. You also have volume control in the two speakers....so you can make the rain louder than the thunder.

Re: White Noise machines
Thank you all.
DH picked one up today and we will try it tomorrow since she is already sleeping and he is not home from work.
Her room is in the center of the upstairs and when DH comes home from work at midnight he is not too gentle on the hardwood floors and needless to say I went to work today on 1 yes that's right 1 hour of sleep So I am praying that this makes a difference! I have students that I have to get through the final with and since his thick head doesn't understand tip toe I hope this makes a difference.
Now do you think that this will keep her up since she's never had one before?

Put it on the lowest and then VERY GRADUALLY raise the volume- that's what we did. ( I also put a mini CD player with a 'repeat' button in her room. I put in a lullabye disc and it plays soft music all night.) Hope that works...My DH gets home late too and it's worked for us. Good luck.
