White skirt
I have this cute white "flowy" skirt on today from Old Navy with a black shirt and cute black sandals. Is it HORRIBLE that I'm wearing white after labor day? Someone said something to me sarcastically and I took offense. I mean, it's 80 degrees and summer weather!!

The "No white after Labor Day" rule hasn't applied in years !! - I'm sure you look very 'weather appropriate" -
Unlike the idiots running around 5th Ave in Suede knee boots and wool scarves ....... - Ok, I get it's technically fall, but really - it's 80 degrees !! -

why would someone make a comment to you about wearing white after Labor Day? what are they, the fashion police  that would have been my response.
and IMO, that "rule" is totally antiquated. you should tell that person this is 2007 and to get with the times

I agree with you. people who are wearing those types of clothes would look more out of place than those still wearing summer clothes. dress for the weather, not the calendar

white is FINE after labor day. that is such an antiquated rule. White is appropriate all year round.
I hapen to love some nice white wool pants in the winter, or a snow white sweater.
