Who do I ask for a 3D sono?
do i need a doctor's referral? thanks

i think it might depend on where you go. We just went for our 20 week anatomy scan and when we went in they had it. I wasn't expecting it at all. You might want to call ahead to see if they have it or not.

I'd ask your Dr. who has the machine...I know at my ultrascreen & at my level II they had the machine there (different Dr.) and they turned on the 3D for the ultrascreen but they didn't even bother at the level II (which I was kinda dissapointed about) But, apparently you can't see anything good (facial features) on the 3D until at least 25 weeks...so if your going to have to pay for it, I'd wait until then. At my ultrascreen the baby looked like a little alien in 3D (the face). Although his body looked pretty cute!!
My SIL came w/me to the level II because shes an obgyn and she knew the Dr...and she said too that they wont do the 3D at the level II because it doesn't come out good until the baby is older (i didn't understand why they couldn't humor me though, its just a matter of flipping a switch on the same machine they do the regular sono on)...so I didn't push it and I'll just wait until my next visit to request the 3D.

thanks!!! i guess i'll see what happens at the level II which is in 3 weeks. there's no way i'll last for another 20 weeks w/o seeing the baby!

I agree. My doc doesn't do another sono (after the Level II) until 32 weeks
