Who do i hire to advise me on financial planning? (not in terms of investing)
Please forgive my ingnorance! i've been thinking of quitting my job for some time. Dh owns his own business and he feels that he could grow expontentially if he could put more time and money into the company. Childcare and commuting costs are eating up our money. Can an accountant advise me and tell me if we are making a good decision or not? i want them to comb through everything and of course advise us on tax planning.
does that fall under the accountant umbrella?

I have an excellent financial "helper" who is my life insurance agent. She is with Primerica, but is not technically a financial planner. She has helped us map out some of our financial goals, plan for retirement, and make specific decisions with our money.
She helped me get out of student loan debt, decide if/when I could be a SAHM, handled my IRA rollover when I left my job and 401k -- plus set up savings plans for the DCs.
HUGE help, but we understand she makes her money off our life insurance plans -- as long as we always take this into consideration, it's been mutually beneficial.
My accountant is great, but he can't answer/guide the way the Primerica agent does.

We use someone with Primerica also and she's absolutely great!
