Who do you think is right?
SS came over last night and had dinner with us. I cooked a chicken, potatoes, corn & spinach. We all sat down and ate together - even the baby (he was in his highchair). DH calls me today and says that SS wants to come over for dinner again tonight. We were planning on getting a pizza, but I said, if he is coming I would have to cook. DH asked why? I explained that I think SS just likes having a home cooked meal and sitting at a family dinner, because BM is NEVER around anymore. SS hasd also done this on other occasions. He has called and said if" I cook he will come over...DH said he never thought of that and thinks I am crazy, he is just bored and hungry AM i reading to hopefully into it? Is DH right? Or am I just a fantastic cook?

Re: Who do you think is right?
I think he may like the home cook meals or your cooking. He may also like the sitting down and eating as a family, so even though he probably prefers your food he will still enjoy eating with the family.
ETA: I never answered your questions, I think you are both right but you more so than DH!

I think "kids" like the home cooked atmosphere more than we think they do - it means a lot to them & make them feel "safe", if you KWIM...

i totally agree with this. my stepkids actually get upset now if its just a mish mosh of food and we aren't all sitting at the table. i love that they enjoy a family setting even if its just for dinner. good job!! but don't drive yourself cooking. i'm sure its good but he probably craves the atmosphere.
