Who does direct selling/home parties? I have questions

is there a way to do work with one of these companies without doing the home party part?

do you truly make extra money or are you merely a "salesperson" for the product?

In the company I work for....it would be really hard for you to not to the at home party part.

And yes I really do make money.

If it's a product like I sell there is a large reorder part. I didn't do any parties last quarter and still made my sales "goal" to remain a consultant.

Yes, you can make money, I don't have a lot invested in it cause of the kids. They are priority but you can make what you want out of it. But the way they want you to be you are a salesperson for the product. I can't be as gunho about it as others, I let the product speak for itself.

I have been a consultant/leader for several different companies. I haven't been in about 5 years but the parties are where you make the big sales & grow your business.
The only way IMO to really make GOOD money w/o doing parties is to first work hard, become a leader by bringing new people in under you, then they are out doing parties & you are home getting paid.
One year I sold Partylite I earned 32,000 doing it part time....I had 5 people working under me that year.
So yes you really can make money.

thank you all for your replies....
do any of you sell your products on ebay? I have seen many listings for products from Avon, BeautiControl, etc.

the company I'm looking into is Initial Grace

and it's based here in GA and I KNOW there is a HUGE market for personalized things, expecially for babies/kids lately

Looks like a good choice. Maybe you can do parties during the day with moms & kids instead of at night.

I was the first consultant on LI for a company that was huge in the midwest, it was a great experience.
I think working for a smaller co is better in some ways.

GOOD LUCK!

oh & keep your investment SMALL...you are in it to make money not spend it all on product.
Earn free products to demo, don't buy it.
Save all of your receipts for the post office, party store & any other place you'll buy stuff for your business. Your accountant can tell you more about writing off your expenses.

My mom works for the same company- and she really does make money- very good money too. And she loves it- so that just makes it even better!
