Close to My Heart...the other Home party stamp company has all clear stamps and you use acrylic blocks instead of the wood ones and they arent permently mounted.
I dont like them as much as the rubber ones on the wood blocks...to me they dont make a clear impression...maybe Im just too much of a moose when I press down on the stamp!!

Ohhhh, ok. A woman here at work was talking about the clear blocks where the stamp isn't permanently mounted and I had no idea what she meant!
My problem with stamping is that I can't stamp things straight. I waste so much paper on do-overs! Argh!

You need to try the Stamp-a-ma-Jig! It's a tool that helps you line up the stamp. I use it all the time for exact placement, especially when I'm stamping multiple stamps or two-step stamps. It's a bit of a pain because of the extra step, but well worth it for the results. Here's a link showing how it works. You can get it at most of the major craft stores. Stamp a ma Jig

I've heard of the stamp-a-ma-jig but I just haven't gotten it yet. I have a running list of things that I want to buy and that's on it

Re: Who else is excited about the new SU! catalog coming out soon?
So what did everyone think of the new catalog? I was a bit disappointed - too many basic looks, solid stamped images instead of nice lines you can color and ink, very little in the two-step technique, tons of circles, dots and doodle-style flowers that have been done to death by them and a zillion other stamp companies already.
I'm hoping the Fall-Winter mini catalog will have more fun Christmas stamps - enough with the snowmen - we've seen a lot of them for awhile now.
I did see some stamps I like, but not as many as I feared (which is maybe a good thing!)

I'm not loving it either, I did see one set I might get, but I'll get inks and punches

Re: Who else is excited about the new SU! catalog coming out soon?
I saw a few stamp sets that I liked - one of them had a brocade swirl on it (can't remember the name). I liked some of the papers, some of the simply scrappin' kits, and some of the punches too. But I agree, the stamp sets weren't all the great. At least I won't be a spending maniac for the next few months though
