He is totally legit.
My good friend's sister was his associate producer. She traveled with him and everything. She said he told her the FREAKIEST sh!t about her friends/ family that SHE didn't even know- she had to go home and ask her mother- and ALL of it was true.
He is the real deal.
Sylvia Browne is a hack. You can tell because all of her "readings" are so generic, they can apply to 80% of her audience.

I'm just not built to believe in these things BUT...
My friend's FIL passed away and it just so happened that her sister worked backstage on John Edward's show at the time and apparently, he channeled the dead FIL during a show. He brought her out from backstage and she called her sister and they had a whole thing right there.
who knows?
my grandfather died suddenly. so suddenly that it took more than a day to tell even our close family members.
my cousin was driving home on the Northern State the night he died (unaware that he was dead) and her tire blew out.
she had no cell phone, no one to call. no one stopped. nothing.
out of no where a tow truck appeared.
the man that got out of the car was the spitting image of my grandfather. so much so that she was speechless at first.
he changed her tire (she had a spare) and sent her on her way. didn't accept payment. just asked that she be safe.
when she got home she got the message from my aunt to call her.
and THEN she found out she was dead.
If the dead wants to talk to you, they find their own ways.
point being, it could have been a coincidence.

I don't think the fact that he profits discredits himi from being legit. Plenty of less than stellarly humble people have talents. It's how you use them that deifne you as a person.

I believe that people could have these powers.
I just don't believe that people that profit off of it, do.
Really? I know 2 people who had readings from him and he told them things he would have NEVER known.
I truly believe you can have powers like him and if you are open to it, you can do it (probably not as much as himself) yourself.
I just think that is a gift.
I don't believe that if the Dalai Lama had the ability, he would charge.
maybe I am jaded, but too many charlatans have come before him.
I do not knock what anyone believes in...it's not like that at all. and if he does have this gift, great.
but I'd still take issue with the fact that he uses it..playing on peoples emotions, for profit. 
What is the difference though of people doing things that they love to make a living? They DON'T have to give him money, but they do.
