who found out?
who found out the sex of the baby? why did you or why didn't you?

I did. I was on the fence, DH was adamant about finding out, so we decided together to find out. My grandfather was diagnosed with ALS in Jan 2005- given a year to live- and our baby is due Jan 5th, 2006...so I wanted him to be as much as a part of the pregnancy/birth as possible. Now he knows there is a great grandson on the way!

I did, dh and I both wanted to know.
I am not the kind of person that can wait for surprises. Actually, I was jumping out of my skin waiting to find out!

I did!! 
We wanted to know #1 because me and DH could not STAND to wait to wait 9 months to find out and #2 because we wanted to be prepared and be able to plan. I also like calling him by his name and not saying "the baby" all the time. When we found out it was an amazing feeling. For me, either I find out now or later at the birth and I would rather know now!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather, my grandmother passed from ALS a couple years ago.
We are going to find out whether or , but we aren't telling a soul

I am hopefully on Tuesday. For the simple reason that I need to plan pink or blue :) I am not a fan of neutrals. It's all about decorating with me LOL

past pregnancies I did this is my last and we are finding out the suspense is killing us!!! I think it would be great to be suprised in the end...but i cant wait that long!! Plus i want to get ready and have the right color clothes etc...

We aren't finding out. I really wanted to - but DH really wanted to be surprised - so i gave in and we didn't find out the sex at our Level II..
Its actually gotten quite fun not knowing the sex of the baby - i think it will be a real surprise not only for us but for our families finding out the day of the birth. Im having alot of fun hearing peoples guesses at old wives tale about how I am carrying.
We are doing a neutral theme and plan to do teddy bear comforter and use lots of greens and yellows. After the baby arrives, Ill do some shopping and get some boy or girl outfits etc.....so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The only downfall is that there isn't too many neutral colors available out there - but we will manage.

I did not find out for my first. It was great wondering the whole time and we did the nursery in neutral tones anyway.
This time I am finding out for sure! I can't wait! Also, we have to plan on which room we want the nursery to be, and which one will become Andrew's big boy room.

I didn't find out, I wanted to be surprised. I figured if I had to go through labor it would be a wonderful feeling to hear its a.... The suspense was killing me though. Also, I loved hearing everyone's theories about what I was having and why.

We did not find out...this is our first, and I really want it to be a surprise. For as much as I hate surprises and want to know EVERYTHING...I just wanted the birth of our first baby to be one.
We have done the nursery in neutral colors and although I also thought I hated neutral...I'm so happy with what we've done...it has come out beautifully!!!

We found out. DH and I both wanted to know. I wanted to be able to do the nursery according to the sex and to start buying gender specific clothes. Anyway, I'm awful at surprises!

I didn't find out with the first and will not find out with this one. Never in your LIFE will you have the thrill of such a surprise!! Labor was tough, but having the excitement of finding out if it is a boy or girl at the end of it made it so much better!! I would never, ever find out!

I agree. We are finding out for the same reasons, plus we are moving into a new house in December. I want to get the nursery ready and register for everything we will need. As soon as we find out we will call the baby by his/her name as well...I can't wait!

No for me. I wanted that cliffhanger and element of surprise. Plus my husband's brother's wife found out with both children and was very visabilly disappointed when she found out # 2 was a boy. It definitely bothered me because here she was laying all these expectations and disappointments on this little baby. Each to his own.

We didn't either time. My feeling was it was the only true surprise I was going to have. I've never had a surprise party (twins are hard to surprise), and wasn't surprised at my bridal shower/baby shower.
Also - for me I thought there is more excitment for the birthday finding out what you had.
When my sister found out - the day she had her daughter, the main question was "So you named her Samantha?" vs. the more excitment of saying "boy or girl?"

We found out. DH didn't want to but I couldn't wait and I also had a hard time getting attached to my pregnancy and this definitely helped me.
I was just as excited to meet my daughter thank I would have been had I not known.

We found out! I really wanted to know. My Dh would have gone either way. I was so surprised when they told us a boy. I cried like a baby. I love to call him by his name and have everyone refer to him as if he is already here. They don't say "baby" they use his name, its wonderful! I guess I'll be surprised 2xs because when I see him I'll cry all over again.
