Who here receives 3 weeks vacation?

If you do, did you have to wait until the start of your 6th year of service, or was it 3 weeks right away? How does a company determine the vacation period? How come some give two weeks and some three weeks?

3 weeks after being here for 3 months

at my last job you didn't get 3 weeks until 7 years

We get it after five years and we accrue our vacation time. Once you start your fifth year - you will accrue more hours per week.

I have three weeks. I had to work here 7 years to get the third.

I get four weeks at my new job and they close down between Christmas and New Year's...so it's like 5

I was staff at a network and I would have gotten 3 weeks, but since I had been permalance for over 5 years it rolled over as time and I got 4 weeks and 4 personal days.
When I was permalance though I got only 5 days and technically no paid sick days!

in my experience the jobs where I did get the 3 weeks right away, there really wasn't ever the time in your job to take the full 3 weeks. They give you all the vacation but they look down on you and make it really difficult to take the full time.

Our company starts everyone at 2 weeks as of the January after their start date. If they start in the first half of the year, they would get 1 week vacation after they've worked here 6 months.

Then you get a 3rd week after 5 complete years.

4th week after 10 complete years.

I started with 3 weeks. I get a fourth week after 5 years. 4 down, 1 more to go!!

I started getting 1.25/month, and now after 5 years I am up to 1.75/month and 1.75 sick/month (21 days, so over 4 weeks of vaca. and 4 weeks sick).

I can roll over 40 vacation days a year. Right now I'm maxed out with 45 vacation days and 60 sick days (though sick don't max out). I don't take much time off.

DH started with 4 weeks - he could use them for personal, vacation or sick.

As a teacher, I have a lot of days, but no choice, which can stink.

I get 3 weeks, this started after 3 years. But now vacation time doesn't increase until 8 years or something like that.

I started out with 1 week.

eta...we get three weeks right away (well after 6 mos.). We can not roll over vaca days, but we can rollover sick (10 days per year).

exempt 3 weeks automatically.

i get a lousy 15 days takem how you want vacation/sick/personal you dont get another week until you have been there for 15 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We started at 16 days after 1 year and it goes up each year until year 5.

all companies vary with vacay policies......mine now gives 18 days for vacation/personal/sick time, I'm not sick too often, so I consider that 3 weeks vacay and then use the other 3 days for sick time. After 3 years its 23 days (which I just got this year!!

I get 4 weeks and started with 4 weeks at this job. I also have unlimited sick days and 2 personal days. (It sounds sooo nice, but I have billable hours requirements. They could give me 6 months vacation and I'd still have to bill 2,000 hours a year ;))

Non-attorney positions start with 2 weeks and then after a certain period of service (I honestlly don't remember how long), they get 3 weeks. Then eventually I believe they can build up to 4 weeks vacation...

They get a set # of sick days, too, and 1 personal day.

i get 10 days a year for 5 years, then up to 13 days a year every year after that - but since i'm civil service, they rollover.

I get 39 days off a year not including holidays/summer fridays. We get it from the day you start work. However, if you quit before the year is up, then they prorate the days and may have to end up paying.
