I get 39 days off a year not including holidays/summer fridays. We get it from the day you start work. However, if you quit before the year is up, then they prorate the days and may have to end up paying.

are they hiring??? 39 days!! that's awesome!!! and summer fridays too on top of that??

i started with 27 PTO days. They are accrued monthly but we're not penalized if we take more than we've accrued at that point in time. As long as we don't go over 27 for the year.

at my old job you got 3 weeks after 4 years of employment.

at my current job, you dont get 3 weeks EVER! whether you're there 2 years or 20 years...you get 2 weeks. it sux.

I get 4 weeks vacation as of the first day I started. We also get 2 personal and unlimited sick plus the normal holidays. In addition we get every other friday off in the summer (which is equal to 7 Fridays this year) and half days before all major holidays.

This is the reason I have been with the company almost 9 years!

3 weeks after 7 years...we are actually working on our boss to give us another week after a certain number of years.

My SIL's job gives them 3 weeks after 2 years PLUS every five years she gets a months sabbatical - she gets four weeks off paid on top of her 3 weeks and she has to take the 4 weeks all at once...I'm truly jealous of that caveat.

I get four weeks at my new job and they close down between Christmas and New Year's...so it's like 5

i have a little over four weeks now, we work on hourly wage so vacation is counted by hours & every year we earn more time depending on how many hours you work per week, i don't recall exactly how they do it. we get more personal time every year too.
i'm in my 10th year with the practice. If I recall correctly you get one week after one year.

3 weeks after 3 years

actually 22 days vacation time
5 days personal time (35 hours)
and 2 floater holidays in april

Years 1-3, I get 12 vacation days, 12 sick days

Years 3-5, I get 16 vacation days, 16 sick days

Years 5+, I get 24 vacation days, 24 sick days

We get 4 weeks, 5 weeks after 5 years.

We usually cannot take more than 2 weeks at a time, and cannot take more than 2 weeks of vacation in the summer.

You also cannot take the same time of year every year in a row if others are requesting it also, in order to give less senior staff members a chance to take certain times of the year if they want.

Based on my position, I came in with 4 weeks vaca & will get 5 weeks after 5 years. We also accrue 12 sick days & (I think) 4 or 5 days personal time and we get a whopping 14 holiday days a year. All of this on top of having a 35 hour work week. I my new job!! It's wayyyyy different from the policies at my old job & a big part of the reason why I came here!

I started with 3 weeks/year, but had to accrue the time (meaning I earned 8.75 hours/month), so every 4 months, I had another full week. After 5 years, I got 4 weeks, but finding the time to take off was hard.

I got three weeks from day one. But that's because I work for a small company, which was starting up when I joined them. When I was hired they asked me how many weeks I had at my old job and I told them 3 (which was true)...so they just gave me 3 weeks !

I have to take vacation when the doc takes vacation. I also do not get paid for all the weeks the doc takes off. I get paid for one week...the doc will take 4 to 6 weeks through out the year. I used to temp at other offices during those weeks I do not get paid but now, with the economy the way it is, there are too many of us looking for temp work. Plus the dental students who just graduated and haven't found an office to be an associate at are taking R.D.H. jobs here. Sorry, I strayed waaaay off topic but I'm a little worried about the job situation.

My first calendar year (07) I was entitled to 13 days (prorated bc I started in Sept).

Now technically I am in my 2nd calendar years and I am entitled to 14 vacation days which is 1 day short of 3 weeks. It increases little by little to a max of 25 days. It's a very generous policy (hallelujah!)

Depending on your level, you either start with 14, 19, or 24 (SVP or above). This is PTO - vacation and sick. After 3 years, you get 3 additional days and after 5 years, you get 2 additional days. You max out at 29 after 15 years (at 10 years you get 27 days).

I've been here awhile and they just changed the plan so I'm entitled to 29 days of PTO - on the old plan I would have had 25 vacation due to time of service and level which was the max). I lost 2 days though because I would have had 31 total including sick but, I like the fact that I can use my days however I want now (although I've been sick more than usual this year).

You can carry over up to 15 days until the following year.

This is a tradeoff to the fact that our pay is on the lower end of the spectrum.

My job gives you 3 weeks if you have a Manager/Supervisor title or after 5 years.

we acrue time here - if you're here a full year you get 18 days but it's prorated if you start mid year (I get 12 days b/c I started in May.)

eta: this does not include sick days. there is no limit - when you're sick, you're sick.

We start with1 (that may have changed to 2 now though) get 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 5 years & 5 weeks after 10 years.

It used to start on your anniversary date, but now vacations go from Jan1-Dec 31, so even though my 10 year anniversary is this July, I will get my 5 weeks starting in January.

I barely have time to take my 4 weeks as it is though.

I work for a small company that doesn't pay much, so I think they are liberal with the time off as a perk. I also occasionally get a free day off as a reward for something.
