who is creative?
this should probably be on pregnancy board but I see you are all posting on NFR right now. Darren and I are trying to think of new and creative way to tell his parents we are pregnant next week....who has a good idea?
ideas we have nixed: giving them the sono in a card/frame wearing a t-shirt tree ornament

Re: who is creative?
Things Remembered sells a throw -
It has a "Grandparents" poem on it. Date it 2006.
They would LOVE that.

Re: who is creative?
I would get them the book, "I Already Know I Love You" by Billy Crystal.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0060593911/ref=sib_dp_pt/002-1361369-8216028#reader-link
Here's a review: Comedian, actor, and director Billy Crystal’s ode to his first grandchild will strike a chord with every expectant grandparent (and parents, too). Readers will feel the sweet anticipation building as Grandpa Crystal dreams about the baby’s upcoming birth. While the writing is at times awkward, the sentiment behind the text is genuine and universal, " I want to feel your heart beat as you lie upon my chest, bait your hook, fly your kite, help you study for a test." The narrator envisions peekaboo, horsey, and visits to the beach with a red-haired tot--his love virtually bubbles over. Pastel illustrations (reminiscent of the dreamy, soft-focus drawings in pregnancy books) by Elizabeth Sayles show the rugged, gray-haired gramps beaming as he partakes of the imagined pleasures to come. Crystal concludes with another awkward yet heartfelt verse: Your mom is my daughter, and your dad is his mom’s son. You lived within your mommy, but now the time has come. Get ready, sweet little one-- Your life will be just great. I’m going to be your grandpa, and… I can hardly wait.

I sent this to my Dad for Father's Day which was about 2 months after we told everyone we were PG...his response "Are you TRYING to make me cry?"

Re: who is creative?
Deb can you make a basket filled with grandparent themed items, like a bib, a frame, those throw pillows that say grandparents are the best, those plaques you put outside on the front door/porch that says grandma and grandpas place. stuff like that, I would wrap it with christmas type cellophane so its not obvious and to cover that tape red tissue paper to the inside of the cello wrap, then wrap the gifts covered in baby blue and pink tissue so when they open up that tissue the items are then staring them in the face and use baby pink and blue crinkled paper for the stuffing of the basket. Good Luck!!!!!
