Who is storing cord blood, and who isn't? (Poll)

I don't know what to do! There is such Pro's and Con's to private storage. I was just wondering what everyone else is doing.

we didnt even think twice about it..cancer runs in my family at very young ages..i was diagnosed at 27, my mothers had it 3 times, and we grew up on a cancer cluster on long island where a 15 year old boy passed away last year, and this mayve saved his life.. i regret never doing it with my ds who is 10 now..so it is something i will do with this baby and with any others i nay be blessed with

I was on the fence but after speaking to my OB and some friends that have done it, we've decided to do it.

I was asked if I believed in life insurance and since I said yes it makes sense. Also I like to think science and technology is only improving, so imagine what this cord blood may be able to help in 10, 20 years

We did it for DS and will be doing it agin with this DC...Hopefully we will never need it, but with technology getting better every day, I would never want any regrets in the future

We haven't decided yet. I know it sounds horrible but with me out of work for few months before baby and then im still gonna try to stay home after he is born for a few months will leave us with only one income. I know there is no price i can put on my childs life and i feel that if i dont get it i will really regret if god forbid he does get sick. Im leaning more towards getting it just dont know where to start or what to ask.

do some searches but I think there is a public bank, where if you donate, down the road if needed you can also use it.

They also have payment plans. I think the lowest monthly payment is around $40.00 per month if that is more manageable right now for you.

We decided to do it, after a lot of debate and thought. We were leaning towards donation, but then I learned that you can't donate with twins. I really didn't want it to just be thrown away, so we decided to bank it privately.
Its one of those things I don't want to regret somewhere down the road. The money was definitely a big issue for us.

Oh, one more thing for those of you on tight/fixed incomes:

They aren't going to start charging you at all for monthly payments until AFTER the baby is born and the procedure is completed.

So that will buy you a bit of time too if you are taking some time off and only living on one income for a few months......CBR is the one we went with.
