I see absolutely nothing wrong with you sitting in your car in the parking lot and eating. I do it often, when I am on my lunch break from work also. I rather at least sit and eat it then have to drive while eating it with one hand, steering with the other, hoping nothing drips, etc.
I would NOT tell anyone I am not leaving either-I don;t owe it to anyone. The same thing if I am at a shopping plaza and putting my package in my car and closing it and going into another store. I am entitled to do so! I thought I was the only one! You can do whatever you want with your spot! Sometimes I have t park by Tj Maxx just to go to trader joes, with my 5 yr old. It's not convenient, but shit happens. I don't get hung up or stressed over parking spots.

If the food was needed ASAP because of being diabetic, I personally would have just eaten at the place where the food was bought.
Are you suggesting eating in a grocery store?!
