I'm not high risk but my ob's practice deal with high risk patients. I go to Elite Women's healthcare in New Hyde Park and see Dr. Robert Wulwick, i believe he deals with hgh risk patients. He's great & so is everyone at the office.

I see Dr. Valerie Altmann. She delivers at LIJ. She isn't a high risk but does lots of twins and will send you for a lot of sonos and monitoring. I love her.

Does Dr Altmann regularly check your cervix? I am 16+ weeks w/twins and my supposedly high-risk dr actually refused to check my cervix at my appt this week. I'm so disturbed by this.
Where does Dr A send people for sonos & monitoring? LIJ in general or a peri/mfm?
Also, is her office staff on the ball?
Thanks!

Yes, my cervix was checked every 4 weeks in the beginning then every 2 weeks from 20 or so weeks on. I remember leaving the appts "proud" of my long cervix....lol.Near the end I was going for sonos 2x a week. All of that took place at the anti partum unit at LIJ. The drs there are great----very cautious yet answered all of my questions. Any time I called the office, they always got back to me right away and were very nice. She also has evening hours on Thursdays. I also liked that she let me work until I decided that I couldn't do it anymore. She was pretty relaxed as long as everything was going okay. I like the other doctors in the practice too.

Re: who is your high risk ob? esp if u r delivering out of LIJ
thanks everyone!
Ii have to ask my RE about these docs bc i am not sure if he wants me to see someone specifically that only deals with high risk
that was the plan to see a high risk and a diff ob
don't know if it is ok for them to be the same if that makes sense
i have a lot of clotting issues so i wanna make sure i see the right person
