And funny you should post this because I just bought the ice cream maker for my Kitchenaid and the recipe I'm using calls for egg yolks and I always screw up when separating.

I usually just use the shells or crack the egg into my hand and let the whites drip thru my fingers.

I would think it would possibly break the yolk, too.
I just use the shell, it's quick, simple & doesn’t created more dishes for me to wash!
