Who shops at BJs/Cosco?

We just got a membership and went there for the 2nd time today (BJs) and did our grocery shopping -- spent $155 in all and have enough staples like meat, pasta, veggies, etc to last us at least a month.

We'll only have to do small shopping here and there for special ingredients and fresh fruits and stuff.

For those that do it -- do you do most of your grocery shopping there, or just use it for big things like paper towels, drinks, etc?

I wish I could shop there...I just don't have enough room for all the bulk items I'd buy.

Yea -- we don't really have the room either -- right now they are all stacked up on the floor behind the kitchen table. And one of the big packs of paper towels is still in my trunk --- we might get a big metal wire storage shelf for the kitchen -- we have one already for plates, small appliances, and think we need another to store more stuff because we have absolutely NO cabinet space.

i just started goignt theret o costco becasue we never had rtoom before i bought a ll paper products cleaning products pastas, condiments, meat and stuff so that i only have to shop for fruits, veggies, milk ..etc

I shop at Sam's Club... some times get meats there, because I find them cheaper in bulk. I also only buy my diapers & wipes there. I still do most of my grocery shopping in the super market though.

we shop at bj's.....

laundry deter/fabric softener
paper towels/toilet paper
toothpaste/brushes
bath soap
shampoo/cond.
garbage bags
and most major household items...all bought in bulk


usually do the grocery shopping on a weekly basis...fresh fruits, veggies, meats, milk, juice, bread, etc.....

I like it for some things......but other things it annoys me like i dont need 500 oz. of ketchup lol
we used to buy meats there when we had our extra fridge in teh basement but since it took a crapper...we cant buy in bulk as much

We have memberships at BJs and Sams Club. We used to go about 2 or 3 times a month to either one. To be honest, I hate it, so i stopped/refused to go with him. I just felt like we were spendiing to much $$$ on stufff!!!

I do think these places are good for certain bulk items (paper towels, toilet paper, chicken, dog food, kitty litter, water, etc....) but we just kept buying other things we didn;'t need. So, I started just going to Walbaums each week and he will go about ever 2 months to Sams or BJs, but I never go with him. I just hate it, I just can't stand being there.

I don't mind shopping in Walbaums but I hate Sams Club/BJs.

I buy paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies...napkins....but not produce or meats. Maybe sometimes canned or packaged foods but I try no to - we don't really have the room either.

I usually buy paper products, cat litter, oatmeal, cereal, beer for DH, and coffee there. Otherwise I go to the supermarket and fruit market weekly.

We just usually stick to cleaning supplies, drinks, and snacks. Our fresh stuff, we buy weekly at the supermarket.

depending on the fresh stuff (produce, fruit, milk), we will either buy it at costco or our local walbaums. On avg, we go to costco once a month.

Wholesale is only a rip off if you don't know how to compare prices. All of costco stuff (food related) they give you how many oz, lb per dollor. You need to take a look and compare it to your local supermarket. then you can take advangtage of savings.

I remember my first time going to Costco, i got my membership money back because they had something on sale and the same thing same place esle was 50 bucks more.

now im a rewards member and costco as they will be sending me at least 150, 200 bucks back when year ends...

We go to Costco. We do the majority of our food shopping there and only pick up sides and veggies here and there to go with our meets.

I shop at Costco for certain things, but we are in an apt. and don't have lots of room to store stuff.

You really have to know your prices, though. I find that some things (shampoo is one I can think of...) I get better prices when it's on sale at Target or CVS than at costco and I don't have to buy the giant one. There are some things I almost always get at Costco, including my contact lenses, since they are much cheaper there.

We buy detergent, paper towels, bottled water, cereal, and meat. They have great prices on vitamins I usualy don't buy fresf fruit or veggies they usually go bad before we can eat it all.

We buy all of our meats there, paper towels, tp, vitamins, etc. The only thing we don't get from there is produce, we have a particular store we go to. I love Cosco, we save so much $

we get meat at BJ's as well plus some frozen veggies, shrimp, mashed potatoes and they have these tasty tomatoes!!

I go to Costco and buy diapers, wipes, clothes, food, cakes, etc. You really need to know your prices to see if you are getting a deal. The Kraft Grated Cheese is a GREAT deal at $5/container. The Kirkland Dishwasher Detergent is great too-$5/2 HUGE boxes.

I buy the shelf items there:

Paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, tissues, water, batteries, toothpaste, body wash, razor blades, paper cups and plates..etc.

There are a some times when I'll buy the flank steak two in a pack because it's cheaper and sometimes the tomatoes are a good price. But for the most part we are only two people and the perishables won't stay.

If I'm having a party I'll buy everything there. Their cakes are great especially the sheet cakes and so inexpensive.
