Who was talking about using the yoga ball the other day?
I borrowed one from a friend yesterday and bounced around on it for about half an hour last night. I don't feel like it did anything, though. What exactly am I supposed to do?

HomeIsWith you did. I am going to borrow my SIL's when I'm about 37 weeks. I suggest you keep doing what you are doing every night or whenever you have the time. It'll help bring the baby down (the gravity from bouncing) so keep it up. There is no wrong way to do it.
However, I personally would not be able to sit on that and bounce during a contraction. I plan to use it before labor (37 weeks on) and in btwn contractions in early labor.
I can totally see it being helpful.

It's not even so much the bouncing as it is the sitting. When you sit on the birthing ball you're sitting on a different part of your butt, alleviating the pressure on your tailbone. As you get towards the end, it's uncomfortable to sit anywhere because of all the pressure on your tailbone and pelvis. The ball kind of redistributes the pressure, also if you just kind of sit on it and roll side to side, back and forth or in circles, it can help to open up the birthing canal and maybe even help guide the baby down into dropping into place. I lived for mine in the last few weeks. I used to sit on it in the living room and lean forward against the back of our sofa.
