Who watches shows about "the science behind the bible stories"?
Just wondering how many people watch shows where people try to find the science behind the Bible stories (either to support or disprove them).
DW watches a lot of them, and I try to catch as many as possible. Since we are basically agnostic/atheist, we just find it fascinating seeing the science behind what most likely happened in the Middle East 2000+ years ago, and how things may have been interpreted, etc.
I'm also wondering if any of these shows enhance your beliefs, or make you question them a little, in either direction (more or less religious).

I try to catch them - I find that they tend to strengthen my faith since I am not a "literal" reader of the bible.
I could see how it could weaken your faith though if you were trying to read the bible only literally.

Yes. I think I saw one recently about the trek that Moses may have taken.

I love these shows. I am fascinated by them, and am really interested in the historical aspect of what many faiths are based upon. I think it is important to know, but that is JMHO...
I got really into them when I had to take a theology course at St. John's. I had a great teacher who taught both the biblical and the historical stories of many of the events represented in the bible. It was such a great class.
ETA: I forgot to answer the last question. I think anyone who follows a literal translation of the bible might have a hard time watching these shows.

Who was the professor? I had two at SJU who were amazing.
