Who would I contact to change my address?
i dont even know where to call.
We have a weird address. We live on a corner and even though our house faces one street, our address is the other street. The house is not in a hard to find location but no one can ever find it without a lot of effort. If I put the address on the front, it is confusing since the # is in the "300s" and the rest of the houses are in the "100s". If I put it on the side of the house, it encourages deliveries and such to come to the side door which doesn't work since I'm upstairs and cannot always run down with 3 small kids...I basically just want a normal address - we can't even get a pizza, it's ridiculous how people can't understand the location. In our old property papers, I see that the address was at one time the proper address and a previous owner changed it.
Anyone know where I should contact to change it back?
TIA

OMG if you find somewhere to call P L E A S E tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have the same problem. Luckily we live on a very short block but everyone STILL has a problem. Our neighbors on one side are in the 2000s (and across the street) and our neighbors on the other side are in the 400s.......Get this one...we are a SINGLE DIGIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY oh WHY they did that I have no idea! I totally feel your pain with the pizza deliveries and such. We always get a phone call from the end of the block saying they can't find our address

Call the Town Assessor's Office, or the Town Planning Office and explain the situation.
I'd actually do this in person - you'll get a better answer!

Are you in Islip? We are going through the same thing. I called the town and was told to send a letter to:
Building Department Permit 1 Manitton Court Islip, NY 11751
I just recieved a call from the building department and they are going to send all the necessary paperwork to the Post Office and the Tax Assessor. The only thing I have to do is get the address changed on the deed ($150 charge) and change all my personal bills.

Re: Who would I contact to change my address?
Thank you for the info!! Im not in Islip, we're in Massapequa but I'll find similar office here. Thank you all, it's making me crazy over here. I'd gladly pay $150 to be able to not have to explain my location in detail and still get the confused calls.
