Who's still up & is starting to hate the holidays?
I can't sleep. The holidays are such a nightmare. The tug of war gets so overwhelming sometimes. I guess we should be grateful that everyone wants to see us but it gets to be too much sometimes.

Thanks for sympathy. I hate having a pity party for myself but I keep thinking of my Christmas where DH & I spent most of it in the car.
We went from LI to Little Neck then to Woodside then to Staten Island then to Huntington (in the pouring rain).

You could think of it as quality time with DH in the car or a confined space to torture him in.

You're so the best - your glass is always half full!

I'm sure your DH would disagree with the torture chamber option.

Still up...I know how you feel. Holidays are synonymous with arguments between DH and I. His family is very mean to me, which he freely admits, but we still have to see them and I end up with knots in my stomach before and after each gathering.

Easter is a relaxing time for my family. We just hang out and enjoy family chill time.

So sorry that the family is mean to you. I actually have the opposite problem. Both of our families are so loving & fun. I know - what a problem
It's just that everyone expects us to be at there party. So we wind up trying to see everyone and never really spend enough time anywhere to make people happy.

Ugh! That's still the case with us to. Although I'm having Easter this year. We can't have both families, my parent's hate the way they treat me and DH's brother is having easter at his house too. So now DH feels I'm unfair for not having his family when they wouldn't come anyway because of their inlaws coming over! LOL! I can't friggin win. If we were to ever get a divorce his mean family and holidays would be the reason...

Kudos to you for doing the dinner. Not only would I not be able to host it - I would have to make multiple dinners to accomodate - vegans, non lamb people, etc.....
