Why?
Why do bad things have to happen to young people? Why is it that I sometimes feel like my school has had a curse put on it? I feel like I go to so many funerals for teenagers...
He wasn't a teenager. He was 22. But I was his class advisor. I spoke at his freshman orientation and at his graduation. I'm never supposed to see him like... THAT. I'm never supposed to see his friends so upset like that either. 
And it doesn't matter if they're 16 or 22... they hug you and lean on you the same way they did when they were in high school and you were their English teacher.
Sorry for the depressing post... it was a rough night...

I just teared up reading this. I hate to hear of such a young, tragic loss and think of his family enduring this at the holidays

I know how you feel.
I worked at school and lost 7 kids in 3 years.
It never gets easier

oh hon, I'm so very sorry! I've never dealt with losing a student before (only faculty), I can only imagine. I'm so sorry
