Why am I so nervous? (sorry so long)
We went for our Level II today. The ultrasoiund tech just told us what everything was as she looked at it but didn't say whether it looked good or bad. DH asked a few times about things if that was good and she said yes. I wish I had asked more questions but I guess I was so amazed at what I was seeing and also thinking that she wouldn't be able to say anything, that I would need to let the doctor tell me what they saw. Did the doctor call you about your Level II at all?
Well, she said she could not get a pic of the bottom of the spine or butt because the baby was too low. I know she was pushing like crazy into my belly way down there a lot. She wants me to come back in 2 weeks so she can try to review the spine again and get a pic of the bottom of the spine. She said it was nothing to worry about, she just couldn't get a picture of it.
So, why am I freaking out about this? I know I am a worrier by nature but this is nuts. She told me it is nothing to worry about but I am still freaking. I feel like she told me not to worry so I wouldn't but that there is a reason she didn't get a pic. DH tells me I am crazy and she seemed fine and not worried but I can't get this out of my mind. I am going to call back tomorrow to see if I can get in sooner. I don't want to wait 2 weeks.
Thank you for letting me write this out. It feels better than keeping it in. I wish I wasn't such a worrier but I am. Man, I am going to be a nutso mom

it's awful to wait for results, i hear you. and i think its perfectly natural to feel anxiety about it... just want to send you some  . i'm sure everything will be fine!!

It doesn't mean something is wrong. I actually had to go back 2 different times because they couldn't get a good view of the spine due to the baby's breach position. Everything was normal but they told me that they need all of the measurements so they can have an accurate reading.

Think of how many girls don't find out gender the first time b/c the baby isn't cooperating. I'm sure this is the same thing - the baby wasn't cooperating, so you have to go back. Just think - you get another sonogram!!

That is the one thing that is keeping me calm - I get to see the baby again. I am feeling a little better today about it. Thanks.

I had to go back twice too because i had two in there. One they were having problems seeing his hand and the other she could not get a good view of his spine/face. Wound up being fine in the end so don't sweat it!

I know it's hard not to worry but having to go back is common. I had to go back because my  head was low in my pelvic area and they needed another shot. I went back 2 weeks later and was there for literally like 3 minutes...they got the picture and everything was fine. I'm sure everything is fine

i had to go back twice as well because she wasnt cooperating and letting them measure her spine -- it was good cause i got to see her again! and the second time my mom went with me....
when they told me to come back the second time they told me not to worry and that the reason that they have to do it is that the dr wont sign off that everything measures ok if they cant 100% see what they want to in the imagery!
good luck and just concentrate on seeing the baby again and MORE PICTURES!

The tech cannot give you too many answers to questions anyway. They are NOT doctors.
Going back is very normal. Babies do not always cooperate with us.

Exactly. They are required to present ALL information for your records. I had to go back also b/c baby G would not sit still long enough to get a good pic of his heart.

I had to go back 3 times for my level II because the baby was not cooperating. I had a similar experience where the tech pretty much tol dus nothing. Every 5 seconds, I would aks a question - is that a leg, is that an arm, etc....and then I would ask if everything looked ok.
If something was of concern your doctor would have called you.
I know its easier said than done, but try not to worry!

We had our full anatomy scan on Tuesday (not as advanced as the Level II) and the tech could not get the baby to move into the right position and was able to get very measurements. My dr's office is sending us to another place to get a Level II because it is more advanced. They told me there was nothing to worry about the other place just had better technology. I was a little worried at first, but I figure if there was something to worry about they would have told me.
