why can I never make good coffee at home?
I'm trying to skip going to get coffee out and just make it at home. Problem is, it tastes like azz. I even bought the DD french vanilla coffee.

Re: why can I never make good coffee at home?
I have had this problem for years. No matter what brand I try, or what different amounts of grinds I experiment with...it is always crappy. SO much easier and satisfying to hit 7-11 or Dunkin!

I stink at this, too.
I bet it's a conspiracy about DD. lol! They don't want their home brew to taste better than the shop brew.

Re: why can I never make good coffee at home?
what kind of coffee maker do you use? some of them really really suck.
I had an $$ Krups maker and I HATED the coffee I made at home.
i started using the metal Farberware, and now it truly is the (second) best part of waking up (first being the consolatory hugs my guy gives b/c I am NOT a morning person )
do yourself a favor and try a new pot. (I am also a BIG fan or Lavazza coffee-in the red can-, as well as Eight O'clock coffee and Green mountain. I HATE DD coffee almost as much as I hate Starbucks.)

Re: why can I never make good coffee at home?
I use the Farberware coffee pot, too, and I agree. It tastes so much better, and stays hotter longer, I find.
I also don't think the DD coffee for at-home brewing is nearly as good as when you buy it ready-made there.

I suck at it, but DH makes great coffee in the same pot.
I'm coffee challenged apparently.
I wonder if they have a class.

This is Coffee Pot i have too! LOVE IT! There is nothing like it! I use DD Coffee from BJ's....one scoop to every 2 cups of water.....for iced coffee is one scoop to one cup of coffee and then you add ice to double the amout of coffee you brewed (sooooooo yummy).

I thought it was just me....My homemade coffee $ucks also. I even went to starbucks and got the coffee. I know it's my coffee maker. I guess I just need to go down to the basement to get the one I got at my shower.

we make DD coffee at home
FYI - you need to use a LOT more coffee per cup of water than w/other brands

Re: why can I never make good coffee at home?
My DH used to work at Starbucks so he is a coffee expert! We have the Cuisinart Grind and Brew... you put in the whole coffee beans and it grinds them and makes the coffee. It's delicious!

This is what I use as well, ever since our hard water killed our coffee maker. The coffee is better, but still not as good as someone elses!
I do love the perculator though, east to clean, no internal parts....
I have had my eye on the Keurig, but I can't justify the cost (of the maker or per cup) just yet.
