why can't I watch shows for free on Fox.com
I just tried watching a show on fox.com..
like I have done many times on nbc or abc.com
and it says unless I have dish network I cannot...
that is ridiculous...I can see HBO limiting subscribers bec that is a paid channel...but FOX!?!?!? really!?!?
I don't get it?!?!? 
ETA..I think i just read/understand that you can watch an episode (non-DISH users) 8 days after air date..by then..who is going to remember...that is just silly

You can still watch them for free, just 8 days after they air. They are going to add more providers (Cablevision, DirectTV, etc, I imagine) in time.
Someone has to pay for their content, so if you can prove that you're paying for their content through your TV provider, they'll let you watch the episodes right away on their website.

I recently noticed the same thing when I tried to watch an episode of Masterchef the day after it aired. Fox is the only major network that is doing this right now. I can go to Hulu.com and watch any shows the next day... EXCEPT for the shows that air on Fox. I tried to watch Glee the day after and was annoyed.
Yeah, I can watch it 8 days later but by then I don't want to anymore!  The price I pay for not living in the DVR world I suppose!

I don't know but I feel the same way whenever someone here posts a link to a News12 or Newsday story and I can't read it

If you have optimum go to channel 502 the shows usually show up the next day
