Re: why do doctors strip membranes?

My mom's doctor did it around her due date when she was pregnant with me to get labor started. Didn't work, I was 3 weeks late.

Re: why do doctors strip membranes?

i was due around christmas and told the doctor i didn't want to be in the hospital for christmas day. he warned me beforehand it was going to be a very uncomfortable internal, which it was. the doctor did it to help bring on labor and also gave me this recipe for a concoction to make at home that would also help start labor. the combination worked and i went into labor.

I feel there is no reason for it and convinced it resulted in my child spinning at the last sec.
It also hurts like hell. You figure they cannot stay in there forever

Can I ask what the concoction was?
